The 2007 Silver Lake Film Festival, May 3-12, will be 10 days of film
screenings, live musical performances, art exhibits, workshops,
panel, parties and much more.
As a volunteer-run non-profit, we need your help! City funds are scarcer than before, so we need to make up for the shortfall.
A donation of
$15 or more will give you
2 free tickets to regular festival programming. With an exciting Music Docs and Mocks program, a ground-breaking environmental program (Sustainable LA) and much more.... Just look at some of the highlights of this year's line-up:
*
ASCAP Music Lounge - Music has always been an integral part of
Silver Lake Film Festival. This year we join forces with the
industry's leading musician's group to bring you Music Fest presented by ASCAP, where local bands will perform in an intimate setting. This exclusive showcase will only be presented in Los Angeles at Silver Lake Film Festival.
*
Sustainable L.A. - One of the festival's signature film series this
year, the program will present documentary films, exhibits and more
about how individuals can make a difference in reducing carbon
emissions and greenhouse warming. Los Angeles City Council President
Eric Garcetti will serve as guest curator for the program. We are also pleased to welcome actor/activistEd Begley Jr. as a panelist.
*
Swanson in Silver Lake - Each year the festival pays homage to our
community's unique role in early American cinema. This year the
festival will celebrate Gloria Swanson - the Silent Era superstar and
Silver Lake resident! - with a rare screening at the historic Vista
Theater of "Beyond The Rocks," the only feature film in which she co-
starred with Rudolph Valentino. And to begin the evening, we'll
present a short film featuring both Swanson and a young comedian
named Charlie Chaplin, both at the start of their careers!
*
Fringe Fest: Curated by Kelly Hargraves this includes a Family Day program, free of charge to local families, as well as related programming.
* Parties, panels, art, digital distribution, Q&A's and much much more.
Be a peach and help us bring this amazing programming to the hood. Silver Lake deserves it!

Hey everyone! I'm a huge fan of Silver Lake and I am proud to say I donated. The only joy I get from work is getting a chance to drive by and see that amazing body of water. Rock on Silver Lake!
