Sadie is my 15 year old mixed breed dog. You can see her and me at www.sadiesshack.com I am a 32 year old disabled lady. I am practically housebound and rely on my carers who come into my home each day to help myself and Sadie and my cats. Sadie has ongoing health problems. Her medications as at November 2007 stands at $200 a month. She needs bloodwork and various other tests in and among. I am hoping to raise money to help pay for the care Sadie needs, but any further funds I raise I will donate to greyhound rescue. I will make no profit for my own personal gain. If you can afford only $1 that would be awesome. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Sadie is my world. I live alone with her and my 3 cats. Sadie has helped me thro a bad time with my own personal health.
Update as of 21st November 2007
To keep you up to speed with Sadie, 2 weeks ago she had a mass removed from her liver weighing over half a kg in weight leaving her weighing 11.6kgs. Thank goodness the mass wasn't cancerous. The vet has confirmed that sadie needs to be on 2 different liver medications for the rest of her life as she cannot process bile properly. The two new medications are costing $120 a month on top of the $150 I already pay. Sadie is recovering so well from her surgery. She is enjoying her walks much more and is walking much further and she is dreaming all the time again which is so cute watching her little legs running and she has her muffled bark.
Thanks to all who have donated so far. Sadie is worth it I promise you.

Claire, this is just selfish....asking people to donate their hard earned money to pay for your dog! a dog that has already lived a lot longer then most pets do! It's selfish and inconsiderate! if you can't afford to care for your pets, you shouldn't have so many in the first place! You should be ashamed of yourself!!!

Hi, thanks anon0mous. Just so you know, I was working full time and had sadie insured when I got her, unfortunately I changed to a new insurer after being missold their policy. They only paid out on claims for 1 year, so when sadie got ill with her heart she was only covered for 12 months, the insurance I had previously did cover her fully, I was made to believe the new policy was the same. By the time I found out it was too late and Sadie was too old to go back to my old insurer and I needed every spare money to pay for the upkeep on Sadie's meds. My cats are insured and should anything happen to them they will be covered and I insured them with a good company and they have good cover, I agree with you, if you can't afford to look after your pets you shouldn't have them, but I think my case is a special case. I became ill over more recent years my life has changed in ways you cannot believe, things have happened to me that don't happen to people regularly. Whoever you are anon please email me or say who you are because you are not that confident in your opinion to say who it is, email me at claireandsadie@gmail.com because whoever you are I'd like to know. I am sorry you feel I am selfish and inconsiderate but I know for a fact I am not. Sadie is my world she inspires me to be strong for myself and my own health problems. If anyone has any questions or has similar views then I want to know how people feel. Thanks to everyone who has donated so far, it means the world to me that you feel so much for Sadie. She is such a loved dog. I am certainly not ashamed of myself and never will be. Thanks everyone
Claire and Sadie
ps could I add that sadie went for post op check up today and in one week she has gained 1 kg in weight she is back up to 12.7kgs and the vet said I can stop worrying now, that sadie will be ok :)

anon0mous, you cowardly troll, perhaps you should look into a mirror.
Claire is one of the most giving and selfless people I know. She is not twisting anyones arm, or taking food out of your mouth... if your money is that "hard earned", then this doesn't apply to you. But just keep it in mind the next time you buy a cup of coffee, or a bag of chips, or go to a restaurant, that you are spending your "hard earned money" on your own unnecessary greed.

Its really hard for me to believe that losers, I mean people like anonymous would say things like that before he/she found out the facts about what this is all about...I have known claire for about 4 years now and I know that there is probably not a kinder sweeter person on this earth...I think claire is an inspiration for the way she handles what life has dealt her. Sadie means the world to her. And for you anonymous...All I can say is I feel sorry that there are people like you around that probably take a lot for granted.
Take a good look at yourself. I hope you like what you see.
