Donations for Disabled vet needs help http://www.pledgie.com/campaigns/575 Hello, I am a disabled vet that has fallen on hard times. My early discharge was for medical reasons. As time went on my disability became worse. Because of this my ability to work has been greatly reduced. I can still do a few things. My main knowledge is with computers. I did manage to get a slight increase of benefits through the VA. The increase was not enough.
There are five children I have to care for. Bills and debt have become the killer in my financial needs. After paying all I owe each month there is not much left. Not enough for food to last the month. I have to greatly reduce my own food intake to insure the kids eat. Most often only one meal for myself a day and not much of one. I have to be sure the children have plenty to eat.
The family vehicle broke down and we have had to do without. It was fully payed . No car payments. The loss of this car also resulted in loss of work.There are no funds to replace it. Transmission went out and the block cracked. The world becomes a giant place when you can’t transport yourself. It is not always easy to get rides and get the kids where they need to be. Thankfully the school bus exists.
After all bills and obligations there is rarely enough for clothing along with the food budget. The kids are dressed as nice looking as possible. The looks on their face when they are told I can’t get them that toy or that item the school is trying to sell them. Far to often a simple thing that cost a few bucks has to be turned down for purchase. I do alot for my children but always feel that more can be done. The fact is more can’t be done due to finances.
This way of living has gone one far to long and the stress is exhausting. The point has been reached to where I need to ask for help. So this is my cry for help. I need to find a way to get a replacement car so I can get a job and end this situation. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
